RHYTHM

BEAT

A beat is a steady, evenly spaced pulse in the music. You feel it when you clap your hands or tap your feet to a tune. The beat is like your heartbeat: you don't always hear it, but it's always there.

Vs.

Rhythm

A rhythm is a collection of short and long sounds and silences. When you sing your favorite song, some notes are shorter and some are longer. Often times, the rhythm of the music matches up with the words of the song.

The metronome is a tool musicians use to keep a steady beat. You can set the metronome to play a fast or slow tempo. It's useful for practicing with all kinds of instruments!

With The Rhythm Trainer, you can test your skills by selecting a mode and note values used in the exercises. Try to identify the rhythm you hear!

Can you clap along to the music?
