Chorus

Kids_singing_912326755_edited.jpg

A choir (also called a chorus) is a group of people who sing together. Here are some interesting facts about singing in a choir:

- People have been singing together all over the world for

thousands of years! Our choral tradition (the way we sing and

    perform) comes from Europe.

- Studies show that singing in a choir can boost confidence,

improve your mood, and reduce anxiety.

- Studies show that singers synchronize their heartbeats when

they sing in a choir. This is because the singers in a choir

   breathe together during a song.

- It's a great way to have fun and make friends!

Westminster Choir College

I graduated from Westminster Choir College, but I am not alone in thinking that this school has the best choirs! Located here in New Jersey, the students at WCC study vocal music and go on to careers as performers and teachers. WCC choirs have performed all over the world and are featured in hundreds of recordings, including Disney's 1940 film Fantasia! Here is the Schola Cantorum singing "Sure On this Shining Night" (yes, I'm singing in there somewhere on the left)!
